The IV International Colloquium Luso-Sephardic Dialogues will take place in Tomar, on the 24th and 25th of November 2022, in an organization that involves the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar, the Center for the History of Society and Culture of the University of Coimbra, the Center for Languages, Literatures and Cultures of the University of Aveiro and the Alberto Benveniste Chair of Sephardic Studies at the University of Lisbon, with the support of the Municipality of Tomar.

The International Luso-Sephardic Dialogues Colloquiums have been held periodically, since 2017, in different Portuguese cities, especially in the Central Region, whose history is intertwined with that of the Jewish presence in these same communities.

The Luso-Sephardic Dialogues Colloquiums are cultural events that seek to offer bridges of proximity between university research and local communities, open to scientific reflection and dialogue, to the sharing and dissemination of research results, to knowledge and to meeting the history of the presence Sephardic especially in the Lusophone territories but also in its manifestations of cross-border and multicultural diasporas.

Organized by Portuguese and foreign speakers, the programs of the Luso-Sephardic Dialogues are also open to the presentation of communications and other cultural participation and testimonies within the scope of themes related to the history and material and immaterial legacies of the Sephardic people and their global diasporas.

A Luso-Sephardic past that is (re)discovered in the Present and in the demand for the meeting(s) and dialogue(s) that the present, with all its tempestuous problems of conflicts and exiles, violence and intolerance, imposes as way to build a common future.
